(a) Library :
Lalit Chandra Bharali College Library has around 14
thousand books, 30 megazines and 10 newspapers. It follows
open access system and introduced SOUL, a Library
Management Software Package developed by INFLIBNET
(Information and Library Network) for Library automation.
Students may borrow books from the Library against cards.
They can utilize the reading room facilities. The student
must follow the existing rules of the Library. It has a
good collection of books on various subjects including
reference books. Several National and Local newspapers are
supplied to the Library. Moreover, the Library subscribes
to different standard Journals of Science and Humanities.
Library Working Hours : 9-30 a.m. to 4-00 p.m.
(b) Book Bank :
The College has introduced a Book Bank in the Library for
helping the deserving students with Text Books and
Reference Books.
(c) Travel Concession:
Students are entitled to avail student concession for
travel offered by different agencies as per rule.
(d) College Merit Prizes :
Students securing the highest aggregate marks in TDC Final
Examination (Arts & Science) are awarded Late Sabitri
Bharali Award and each of them carries cash award of Rs.
5000/- and a Certificate.
(e) Students' Aid Fund :
The College has a Students' Aid Fund formed by
contribution of students to help the poor but meritorious
students of the College. The fund also provides assistance
to meet medical expenses of students when and where
required.
(f) Disaster Management Cell :
The College has a Disaster Management Cell. Its objectives
are—
to create awareness among the students, teachers and the
community to mitigate disasters by making disaster
management plans. Appropriate training and knowledge are
imparted about different skills and techniques to face
emergent situation arising out of any disaster.
(g) Departmental Facilities :
i) Computer Science : The Dept. has two periodically
updated A/C. Laboratories with seating arrangements for
about 90 students. The Lab. is mostly formed by P-III/P-IV
PCs using Windows-98, 2000/Linux OS.
ii) Electronics : The Dept. has a periodically undated A/C
Laboratory with seating arrangements for 30 students for
basic Electronics practical. There is a separate setup for
Digital Electronics with seating arrangement for 20
students. The Dept. has its own Computational facility.
The Computational facility provide Windows-2000/Xp based
design experience using Multi-sim, Tinapro, Protel and
Matlab.
iii) Environmental Science : The Dept. has a sophisticated
Laboratory and Meteorological Station which can monitor
and record data on rainfall, temperature, humidity,
windspeed, water current etc. on a continuous basis. The
Dept. also has a set-up to measure air pollution levels
and carry out different chemical analysis of contaminated
water and soil.
h) Photostat facility is available for all within the
College campus.
